Our Story: Nicotra Gebhardt’s Legacy of Innovation and Global Reach
Nicotra Gebhardt® is a global leader in fan solutions, with roots tracing back to the early 1960s when Nicotra first began producing centrifugal fans. Driven by increasing demand and a reputation for quality and technical excellence, Nicotra quickly became a dominant player in Italy’s light-duty ventilation market.
Expansion Across Europe and Beyond
During the 1980s and 1990s, Nicotra expanded across Europe by establishing subsidiaries in key countries, including France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and the UK. This allowed the company to meet local demand efficiently, supported by regional sales managers and local product stock. Around the same time, a new plant was built in Tavagnacco, later relocated to Remanzacco, specializing in the production of fans for Air Handling Units (AHUs).
Nicotra's growth continued into international markets, especially the Middle East and the Far East, where it opened subsidiaries between 1990 and 2003 in countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, China, and India.
A Milestone Merger: Nicotra and GebhardtVentilatoren
In 2005, Nicotra strengthened its global presence by acquiring GebhardtVentilatoren, a German ventilation company founded in 1958. Gebhardt pioneered direct-driven centrifugal fans using external rotor motors, a revolutionary concept at the time. Over the years, Gebhardt expanded into European, Asian, and North American markets, introducing a broad range of ventilation products and establishing a manufacturing facility in Vogtland, Germany.
The merger of these two companies brought together Nicotra’s global reach and Gebhardt’s innovative design, forming the Nicotra Gebhardt brand that is recognized worldwide today.
