Our history: Nicotra Gebhardt's legacy of innovation and global reach
Nicotra Gebhardt® is a global leader in fan solutions, with roots dating back to the early 1960s when Nicotra first began producing centrifugal fans. Driven by increasing demand and a reputation for quality and technical excellence, Nicotra quickly became a dominant player in Italy's market for light ventilation equipment.
Expansion across Europe and beyond
During the 1980s and 1990s, Nicotra expanded across Europe by establishing subsidiaries in key countries such as France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom. This allowed the company to effectively meet local demand, supported by regional sales managers and local product inventories. Around the same time, a new factory was built in Tavagnacco, later relocated to Remanzacco, specialising in the production of fans for air handling units (AHU).
Nicotra's growth continued in international markets, particularly in the Middle East and Far East, where the company opened subsidiaries between 1990 and 2003 in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, China, and India.
A milestone: The merger of Nicotra and GebhardtVentilatoren
In 2005, Nicotra strengthened its global presence by acquiring GebhardtVentilatoren, a German ventilation company founded in 1958. Gebhardt were pioneers in direct-driven centrifugal fans with external rotor motors, a revolutionary concept at the time. Over the years, Gebhardt expanded into European, Asian, and North American markets, introduced a wide range of ventilation products, and established a manufacturing facility in Vogtland, Germany.
The merger of these two companies combined Nicotra's global reach and Gebhardt's innovative design, creating the brand Nicotra Gebhardt, which is now recognised worldwide.
